I said in my last post that i failed and would start again soon. I lied. I am not gonna stop i am gonna keep going, i’ve come too far to quit now. Tommorow i will start posting sleep logs again, tonight i am gonna focus on staying on schedue.

Epic Fail

Well it would have been day seven today but i failed epically. I sleep through almost all my naps and just generally crashed. I have decided to wait until tommorow night and start again, this time being a bit more prepared and with a different time schedule.

Well it’s day 6. I’m starting to feel normal again which is a really good sign. Last night was probably the hardest of all.

Nap Time 1:40am-2am

This was an okay nap, I woke up good because i had my ipod alarm going.

Nap Time 5:40am-6am

I overslept again by 4 hours. I don’t know what is going on. It’s like my ears are just shuting down and not hearing the alarm but only during this nap.

Nap Time 9:40pm-10pm

I had to skip two of my naos because i was busy. I slept good during this nap and woke up two minutes before my alarm so thats sweet.

Big day 7 tommorow.  In the last 140 hours i probably slept about 15 or so total.

Today has been by far the worst day thus far into my experiment. I overslept horribly and just generally had bad naps.

Nap Time 1:40am-2am

This was probably my best nap so today. I slept pretty well and got into a bit of dreaming but not much. Woke up on time thanks to my buddy tyler.

Nap Time 5:40am-6am

Not too great a nap, felt really tired after it and eventually went to asleep at some point, I think around 7:30am. Woke up at 10 am so thats two and half hours of oversleeping. I really need a way to stay awake in the morning, gonna try being outside after 6am.

Nap Time 1:40pm-2pm

This nap was okay, got woken up on time but rather unexpectedly so that just messed me up for a while.

Nap Time 5:40pm-6pm

I started this nap about two minutes late but still got a pretty decent nap, woke up on time without my alarm so my internal clock must be adjusting.

Map Time 9:40pm-10pm

This nap went well i think, felt allot longer then it was. I didn’t dream but i feel really refreshed, hope i can be like this later.

So it’s day four, been about 96 hours since I had a normal nights sleep, its starting to take it’s toll on my mind. My reaction time right after naps has gone down allot, but I feel less tired now.

Nap Time 1:40am-2am

Pretty decent nap, my friend was supposed to wake me up but he feel asleep before he had the chance, lucky i had an alarm set.

Nap Time 5:40-6am

This was a pretty bad nap. I overslept by about a half an hour, so I got up at like 6:30. Apparently my friend woke me up at some point by slapping me in the face, but i don’t remember this at all. I guess I fell asleep around 3 am although I remember watching a movie right then so not sure if he is lying.

I missed my 9:40 nap, apparently i fell asleep but i woke up at 10am anyway so i guess its ok. I need to find a way to stay awake early in the morning. I feel most tired around this time.

Nap Time 1:40pm-2pm

Really good nap, I don’t remember it but I wasn’t tired at all after it.

Nap Time 5:40pm-6pm

I started this nap late, at like 5:55, got up at 6:15. Feeling pretty good, not hungry because i just had dinner. Lots of energy.

Skipped nap 9:50pm-10pm because i was out and about, still wouldnt have been tired enough to sleep.

Nap Time 1:40am-2am.

Didn’t sleep all too great this time, feel really tired right now. Pretty boring waiting till my next nap, gotta get some books or something to occupy myself.

Nap Time 5:40am-6am

Not too bad, just rest, no sleep. It’s really hard to stay awake at this point. On a difficulty scale of 1-10 this is probably a 7.

Nap Time 9:40am-10am

Overslept this by ten minutes, thats not bad really although I would prefer not to.

Nap Time 1:40pm-2pm

Pretty good nap, alarm woke me up pretty good, not feeling as tired as before but still am.

Nap Time 5:40pm-6pm

Not bad sleep, feel really energized after it, hungry though.

Nap Time 9:40pm-10pm

Feeling kinda tired, hungry, very hungry, didn’t dream at all but wasn’t expecting to. Had to take nap halfway through a movie so missed the best part.

Nap time 1:40am-2am.

No dreams, although i do feel groggy as in just got out of bed groggy so that may be a good sign.

Decided i’m gonna update the blog once per day, mostly at night, just before midnight.

Nap time 5:40am-6am.

Not that good a nap really, didn’t reel refreshed.

Fell asleep for about a half an hour sometime around 7 am, no clue when, just dozed off, gonna keep trying.

Nap time 9:40am-10am

Ok nap, didn’t feel refreshed right after it but later on in the day i felt more awake then normal.

Nap Time 1:40pm-2pm

Not bad, just got up, it’s a bit loud to sleep but this early im just trying to get my mind used to relaxing at this time of day. I’ve notice that i am very hungry throughout the day. No clue why,i’ve eaten alot today.

Nap Time 5:40pm-6pm

First time I actually got about 5 minutes of REM sleep, one second I was awake the next I was out, I woke up at the end of my nap and felt pretty good. No over or undersleeping this time.

Nap Time 9:40pm-10pm

Ok bit of resting time, no REM sleep though, don’t feel tired, eyes are a bit sore but thats from the computer screen.

First 24 hours of actualy uberman sleep, It’s been like 2 nights since I had a normal nights sleep, yah me.

Hello World.

Over the past few years I have had a real problem with sleep, that is I hardly do it and i am always tired though I may not look it. I am averaging about 1-2 hours a night. While using Stumbleupon i came accross an article about the Uberman sleeping schedule. This involves taking a brief nap 6 times a day every four hours for a extended period of time. Basicly my new sleep schedule will be as follows.

Following this I will get 2 hours of sleep everyday. The idea of this method of sleep will be to make my body enter REM sleep as soon as i lye down for bed. Seeing as you only get 90 minutes or so of REM a day it may just work out. I am sure this will be a difficult process but i am willing to deal with that. Anyway here are the events of July 30th 2008.

Took a 20 minute nap from 9:40pm to 10pm. Felt ok although I didn’t dream at all.
